Silverline's Inside The Music series presents New Age, a collection of works by new age artists available for the first time in stunning DVD-Audio six-channel sound. In this format, the texture and space of ambient new age music is emphasized. Everyone else, however, might like the Pioneer 5.1 Surround Sound System with HDMI Upconverting DVD Player. MCACC setup means each speaker can be set to a specific room (the MCACC microphone is included). Once that’s done, you’ll be enjoying a 360 watt 5.1 Surround System with six shielded side cubes and dual center speakers.
I got from a friend who's a professional sound mixer on Dvd-A. He has a lot of unreleased/out of print stuff plus he's got 'hobbyist' quad mixes of certain other albums done by pro mixers but not officially released for whatever reason (usually record label deems it too niche a market), but it's not circulated outside of these kinds of hands for obvious reasons. Sound mixers do exchange a lot of unreleased mixes for their own enjoyment, often sharing 'fixed' mixes.
(meaning the official release is brickwalled for example but as the mixer has access to the original multitracks they keep their own 'unofficial mixes' and from my limited experience tend to sound much better but I digress). If you can track it down I'd definitely recommend it.best mix of DSOTM I've heard! Yes, I remember how much i paid for them. Saved for months in advance.
I have plenty of SACD, DVD Audio (including DTS audio) and Blu-ray 5.1 including DSotM on SACD and WYWH on Blu-ray (along with DSotM on Blu-ray), Steven Wilson's The Raven, Hand. Erase and To the Bone, Marillions Misplaced Childhood, Genesis A Trick of the Tail and albums by Alan Parsons, Steve Hackett and Mike Oldfield. These are all on Blu-ray. On SACD I have classical work like Vaughn Williams, Henryck Gorecki and Holst and albums by Joe Satriani, Mondo Head ( Mickey Hart of Grateful dead and the Kodo drummers) and others.
